Gold Coach was contacted by the HR Director of this retail company, who felt she could not be impartial with resolving this case. It involved a fellow Director who had been accused by his manager of being unapproachable, dismissive and rejected as an employee. The problems were discussed individually and Gill from Gold Coach worked through strategies to improve the managers self-belief in himself and how the Director could involve his team and become more approachable.
In this instance a Director was accused by his Manager of being side-lined and made to feel unimportant. As replacing staff is so expensive in time and energy, Gill was asked to deal with this conflict. This was a day’s work when she was able to reassure that to individuals that all confidences would be kept. Gill spoke to each of them in different rooms and was able to establish that the Director was younger than the Manager and “took no prisoners”. On the other hand the Manager was a highly sensitive person and just needed time with the Director reassuring him and discussing his vision. Gill was able to relay both sides to the individuals and worked on various tools and techniques with each of them. There had been unfounded assumptions on both sides and the team are now working well.

She was completely impartial and listened intently and spoke to show that she understood what had been said and was very pro-active in managing tension and helping us both to see reality in order to resolve to solve the differences. It helped us both understand and work through our issues as there had been many assumptions.”
